EVANSVILLE, Ind. – In a hard fought battle on both sides of the field, the University of Evansville men’s soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to the visiting Butler Bulldogs Saturday night at Arad McCutchan Stadium. With the non-conference defeat, the Purple Aces now own a 5-7-1 overall record, while Butler improved to 6-6-2.
The Bulldogs tallied the lone goal of the game in the 37

In the first half, UE had some good opportunities at the net, outshooting Butler, 9-5 and 5-4 on goal. However, goalkeeper Jon Dawson stopped them all, tallying five saves. In the entire contest, the Bulldogs edged the Aces 13-11 on shots and 8-6 on shots on goal.

Jesse Sharp led Evansville with two shots apiece, all on goal. Sophomore
Alex Kapsalis also registered two shots.
In net, Teppen recorded seven saves in the match, while Dawson finished with six.
The Aces are back in action Wednesday when Evansville plays host to No. 13 Indiana University at 7:00 p.m. CT at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
