This week’s Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week at UE is senior volleyball player Brooke Maher.  Maher led Evansville to its first victory against perennial league power Wichita State since 2001 on Friday night, as she recorded a double-double with a team-high 16 kills and 12 digs.  She then also recorded a team-best 20 digs on Saturday night in UE’s match against Missouri State.
 
For the season, Maher leads Evansville in kills with 252, while also ranking second on the team in digs with 293, as she ranks in the MVC’s top 10 in both categories as well.  Maher and the Purple Aces will begin the second-half of MVC play on Friday night, as UE will travel to Des Moines, Iowa to battle the Drake University Bulldogs.
