Aces' Top 20 Community Servants Recognized

The University of Evansville on Saturday honored the 20 UE student-athletes who performed the most community service hours during the 2010-11 school year.  They were recognized during the Aces' baseball game against Missouri State.  UE student-athletes have accumulated more than 2,900 hours with 91 different organizations in the Evansville community since the start of the school year. 

The 20 include: Briyana Blair, women's basketball; Jacqueline Carlson, women's cross country; Kate Chybowski, tennis; Jaclyn Dippel, women's cross country; Aleksandra Dzakula, tennis; Meagan Collins, women's basketball; Shelby Cron, women's cross country; Matthew Hamilton, men's cross country; Chaviel Harrison, women's soccer; Khristian Hart, women's basketball; Kelby Jenkins, women's cross country; Nicole Kreuzman, women's cross country; Dani Langness, women's soccer; Robby Lynch, men's soccer; Colleen Marty, women's soccer; Carolyn Schenberger, women's soccer; Ashton Schwerin, tennis; Melissa Truex, women's cross country; Andrea Wolf, women's cross country; Tailae Yeung, women's cross country.

In addition, coach Don Walters' women's cross country team was recognized for accumulating the most team hours, with 523.

"The importance of our student-athletes giving back to the community has been a focus of the athletics department for a number of years," said Director of Athletics John Stanley.  "Best of all, it's something the student-athletes have embraced.  I constantly hear from the student-athletes that they get great satisfaction out of the service they provide."
