EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men’s soccer will take to the road for its third straight tournament, competing in the Hotels at Grand Prairie Classic hosted by Bradley University. The Purple Aces will face Loyola-Chicago Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Memphis Sunday at noon.

SCOUTING THE RAMBLERS (1-3-1, 0-0 Horizon)
Loyola-Chicago enters the weekend fresh off of Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with DePaul. On the season, the Ramblers average one goal per game and 9.2 shots per contest. Loyola has found the back of the net five time, compared to their opponents’ eight scores. They have also been outshot 59-46 through five matches. Brian Bement (2g, 0a, 4pts), Tanner Nebbia (1g, 0a, 2pts), and Justin Koehler (1g, 0a, 2pts) pilot the offense. In goal, Peter McKeown (340:36, 1.32GAA, 13SV, .722SV%, 0-2-1) and Christian Krueger (135:16, 2.00GAA, 6SV, .667SV%, 1-1-0) have shared time in the net.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS (4-0-1, 0-0 C-USA)
Undefeated, Memphis will face No. 18 Bradley Friday before Sunday’s meeting with Evansville. The Tigers come off a 1-0-1 performance at the Wisconsin Tournament where they tied UIC and topped the hosting Badgers, 2-1. Mark Sherrod (4g, 1a, 9pts), Liam Collins (1g, 4a, 6pts), and Parker Duncan (2g, 1a, 5pts) lead the offensive attack. Goalkeeper Conor Hurley has spent all 470:00 minutes in the net, recording a 0.96 GAA, 17 saves, a .773 save percentage, and one shutout. As a team, the Tigers have outscored their opposition, 11-5, averaging 2.20 goals per game. They also own a 69-47 shooting advantage through five matches, averaging 13.8 shot per contest.
EVANSVILLE (2-2-0, 0-0 MVC)
The Aces comes off a 1-1 showing in their own ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic last weekend. UE fell to Marist College, 1-0, then bounced back to top Eastern Illinois, 3-2, in overtime. On the season, the Aces average 1.25 goals per game, equaling their opposition on the scoreboard, 5-5. With a 45-40 shot advantage, UE has been averaging 11.2 shots per contest. SHARP SHOOTING
Junior
Jesse Sharp played hero Sunday afternoon in the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic, scoring the tying goal in the 83rd minute to force overtime, then netted the game-winning goal with 56 seconds remaining in the first extra period over Eastern Illinois. Sharp was named to the all-tournament team for the second straight week, recording a 1.000 shot and shot on goal percentage. On the season, Sharp leads the Purple Aces with six points (2G, 2A), having a hand in four of UE’s five goals.

Senior
Jarrett Robbins and Sharp were named to the ProRehab Aces Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team. The 6’7” Robbins led UE on the defensive end of the Aces’ 3-2 overtime victory over Eastern Illinois, holding the Panthers shotless in the extra period. Robbins also took a shot in each contest over the weekend.
SHARP SHARP
Jesse Sharp has already tallied more points this season than he had in his career total entering the year. The junior entered the 2011 season with five points to his name (1G, 3A) in 26 matches. Now through just four matches, he has tallied six points (2G, 2A), having a hand in four of UE’s five goals.
ROAD TRIP!
Evansville will play in its third straight tournament this weekend, heading to the Bradley Invitational along with Memphis and Loyola. Friday’s match with Memphis will mark the Aces’ first of five consecutive road matches. Evansville will not play another home contest until Oct. 12.
PERFECT IN PINK
Playing in their fourth annual “Kick it for the Cure” match last Sunday, the Aces continued their undefeated record in the event that benefits the Greater Evansville Susan G. Komen Foundation. UE owns a 3-0-1 mark in the pink matches.
