EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Purple Aces volleyball team will be back on the road this weekend as they travel to UNI on Friday before facing Bradley on Saturday afternoon.
Friday’s tilt versus the Panthers is slated to begin at 7 p.m. while Saturday’s game at Bradley will begin at 4 p.m.
In its lone match last weekend the Aces fell by a 3-0 final at Southern Illinois.
Hannah Wilson had a strong outing as she registered 12 kills and hit .235 against the Salukis.
Ashley Ring tallied five kills while
Rachel TenHoor and
Emma Roberson had four apiece.
Prior to the match at Carbondale, Evansville earned a home sweep over UT-Martin on Oct. 2. Led by Ashley Ring’s 13 kills, the Aces outhit the Skyhawks, .239-.106 in the 3-0 victory.
The weekend begins on Friday in Cedar Falls against UNI. The Panthers had their 59-match MVC winning streak come to an end last weekend as Creighton took a 3-1 win in Omaha. They have won 29 MVC games in a row at home, dating back to November 15, 2008. The Panthers are tied atop the league with Creighton at 6-1.
UNI leads the Valley in kills per set with 14.21, however, just one Panther is in the top ten on the individual side as Megan Lehman ranks seventh in the league with 3.20/set.
Bradley has struggled in league play, going winless in seven outings thus far. The Braves were 6-5 in non-conference play. Last weekend, BU lost a 3-1 match at Creighton and fell in five sets to Drake on Friday evening. Madison Kamp leads the Braves and is seventh in the MVC in assists with 9.09 per set.
Evansville has won six in a row in Peoria against the Braves, with the last loss coming in 2005.
Next weekend, UE is back at the Carson Center to face Missouri State and Wichita State.
