The Aces (7-14, 2-6 MVC) played tough all evening, including a victory in the opening set, but UNI (16-6, 7-1 MVC) fought back to take the final three games as Lehman tallied 22 kills while Macy Ubben had 19.
Evansville opened up the first set with a victory, taking a 25-21 win. UE scored the first point before UNI took its first advantage at 4-3 on an Amy Braun kill. The Panthers kept moving ahead, eventually jumping out to a 10-5 lead.
The Aces began to fight back as
Hannah Wilson led the Aces on a run that would see them eventually tie up the game at 15-15 on an
Ashley Ring kill. The Panthers regained the lead before another Ring kill followed by a UNI error saw the Aces jump back ahead for good. Ring had two more kills before a UNI error capped off the win.
Lauren Seyller opened the second frame up with a pair of kills as UE jumped out to a 4-1 lead. Kills by Wilson and Meaghan Holmes helped that lead grow to 7-3, but a quick spurt by the Panthers knotted the set up at 9-9.
With the score still tied up at 12-12, UNI made its run, reeling off three in a row before extending that to a 25-19 final.
The third set was another hard-fought effort by both teams. The game was tied five times leading up to an 8-8 score.

Evansville was responsible for five errors over that stretch while Megan Lehman had a pair of kills. The Aces refused to relent, cutting the early deficit to just three points as Ring and Wilson led the offense.
