Senior Hannah Wilson has also been on a roll as of late.  In seven of the last nine matches, Wilson has recorded at least seven kills, including a pair of 14-kill efforts against Belmont and Indiana State.

Southern Illinois comes into Friday’s tilt sitting in a 3-way tie for third place in the Valley with a 4-2 league mark.  They are 14-3 overall following a 3-2 win over Murray State on Tuesday.  The Salukis took both home matches last week, earning identical 3-1 victories over Creighton and Drake.

SIU is led by Alysia Mayes, who sits atop the league in kills, averaging 3.82 per set.  Mayes is also the conference leader in service aces as she has registered 24 on the season.  Amy Drabant has played a large role in Mayes’ success as she leads the MVC in assists with 11.63 per set.

Over the last five years, the series has been evenly matched as the home squad is a perfect 10-0 over that span.  In 2006, the road teams won both matches while the last sweep happened in 2004 when SIU went 2-0 against the Aces.
