EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After playing earlier this week at Cleveland State, the University of Evansville men’s golf team will have a quick turnaround, playing at the John Dallio Memorial this weekend.
DePaul University is playing host to the tournament, which also includes Chicago State, Columbia, DePaul, Eastern Illinois, Green Bay, IUPUI, Loyola-Chicago, Marquette, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, Oakland, SIUE, Valparaiso and Western Illinois.
Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont, Ill. will play host to the event, which is a par 72 and is 6,898 yards long.
Quinn Vilneff led the Purple Aces earlier this week at the Cleveland State Invitational. Vilneff shot a 225 in the 3-round event en route to a tie for 13
th place. Vilneff notched three rounds in the 70’s, including a low of 74 in the second round of play.
Alex Turner kept up his solid play as he finished in a tie for 22
nd with a 227 while the third UE player on the leaderboard was
Rick VoyVodic, who carded a 240 to tie for 56
th. Freshman
Will Knights, playing as an individual in the event, finished in a tie for 45
th place, but shot the lowest round of the tournament for UE, recording an even 72 in the second round.
After playing at DePaul, the men have a quick turnaround as they will participate in the Butler Intercollegiate, which is set for Monday and Tuesday at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis. The last event of the fall season for UE is set for Oct. 22 and 23 at the Dayton Invitational.
