INDIANAPOLIS – Following the opening round of play at the Butler Fall Invitational, freshman
Alex Turner is tied for 8
th place as the University of Evansville men’s golf team is in fourth place.
Turner notched a 72 in round one and is six strokes off of the lead.
Parker Hensley carded a 1-over 73 en route to a tie for 10
th place while
Quinn Vilneff was a shot behind with a 74. He is tied for 13
th.
Will Knights registered a 76 in Monday’s round while
Rick VoyVodic notched an 80. A pair of players are in the tournament as individuals as
Craig Niemeier notched a 76 while
Josiah Ashba had a 78.
Butler sits atop the leaderboard following the first round with a 281. Wisconsin-Green Bay stands in second with a 288 while IUPUI is third (293) and the Purple Aces sit in fourth with 295.
The Bulldogs have the top two individuals as Andrew Wegeng leads everyone following his round of 66 while Colin Reenan is second with a 67.
The teams played just one round on Monday as play was delayed nearly three hours due to frost on the course.
