INDIANAPOLIS – Freshman
Alex Turner tied for fourth place as the University of Evansville men’s golf team took fourth place at the Butler Invitational on Tuesday afternoon.
Turner recorded a pair of even par 72’s en route to his best collegiate finish.
Quinn Vilneff shot a 75 on Tuesday en route to a tie for 13
th place while
Parker Hensley notched an identical score.
Rick VoyVodic carded a 72 while moving up to 19
th place and fellow freshman
Will Knights tied for 20
th place after a 2-round total of 153.
Butler extended its advantage to take the team championship with a 570. Wisconsin-Green Bay took second on the heels of a 582 while the Purple Aces finished the tournament with a 590.
Andrew Wegeng of the Bulldogs took medalist honors. He followed up his first round score of 66 with a 72 on Tuesday to take the win by three strokes over Cole Adams of IUPUI.
Next up for the Aces is a trip to the Dayton Invitational. It is set for Oct. 22 and 23 in Dayton, Ohio.
