This week’s Vectren Student-Athlete of the Week is junior diver Sadie Wells. Wells went a perfect 3-for-3 in diving events over the weekend, as she placed first in both the one-meter and three-meter events in UE’s dual meet with Missouri State, while also posting a first place finish in the Saint Louis University Triangular meet on Saturday. Wells swept both diving events against Missouri State, including posting an impressive score of 283.95 in the three-meter event. She also posted a score of 274.65 on Saturday in the one-meter event, as both her high scores on the weekend represented NCAA Zone Qualifying Scores in the one- and three-meter events.
Wells and the Purple Aces will compete in the final regular-season meet of the year this weekend at Southern Illinois, before taking part in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships in two weeks. Wells will also represent UE in the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in early March, marking the third consecutive year in which she has represented UE at the NCAA meet.
