Skiles Leads Women’s Golf On Second Day Of MVC

Day Two Results

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. –
Sydney Skiles shot an 8-over 80 as the Purple Aces women’s golf team moved up to eighth place at the State Farm MVC Championship at the Country Club of Terre Haute.
 
Skiles shot an 81 on Sunday before following that up with an 80 on Monday to stand in 31st place entering Tuesday’s final round of play.  Lauren Ellerman recorded an 83 on Monday to move to a 164 for the tournament, putting her in a tie for 34th.
 
After shooting a team-low 79 in the first round, Alyssa Key carded an 88 to drop to 38th place with a 167.  Cathy Doyle notched an 83 on Monday to move into a tie for 39th while Dana Hayden’s two-round score of 177 was good for a tie for 47th.
 
Northern Iowa continues to hold the overall lead in a close three-team race.  The Panthers came in with a 610 while Bradley tied for the lowest round of the day with a 307 to move up to second place with a 612.  Missouri State is in third place with a 613.
 
Thea Hedemann of Bradley leads on the individual side.  She followed up Sunday’s 1-over 73 with a 74 on Monday.  Katie Jean of Illinois State and Southern Illinois golfer Cassie Rushing are tied for second, one stroke behind Hedemann  Evansville is in eighth place with a 657, seven shots ahead of Drake.
 
The teams will play one more round of 18 holes on Tuesday morning.
