TUCSON, Ariz. – A pair of Aces were named to the Wildcat Invitational All-Tournament Team, which the University of Evansville played in over the weekend.
Junior
Katie Klages and sophomore
Ashley Ring were named to the team based on their play in the three matches of the tournament.
Ring, a member of the MVC All-Freshman Team a season ago, notched three double figure kill efforts. She began the season with 12 kills and 11 digs against the host Wildcats before notching a career-best 19 kills against Utah Valley State, breaking her previous high of 16 set last year against Cincinnati. She also tallied 15 digs. In the tournament finale against Cal State Northridge, Ring 15 kills en route to All-Tournament Team honors.
Klages showed her prowess on the defensive side over the weekend, beginning with a solid 16-dig effort against host Arizona. She followed that up with 22 in the win over Utah Valley State before tallying 11 digs against Cal State Northridge.
The pair along with the rest of the Aces will be back on the floor this weekend as they travel to the Morehead State Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
