WICHITA, Kan. – Ashlyn Driskill led all players with 15 kills as Wichita State swept past the University of Evansville volleyball team, 3-0, on Friday evening.

Hannah Wilson checked in with eight. Wichita hit .300 on the night while limiting UE to .069.
Emily Adney notched a kill to open up the game for WSU as they reeled off the first three points. Evansville got on the board following a WSU error before a kill by Hannah Wilson got UE back within one at 5-4. That is as close as the Aces would get as the Shockers fought back with a 9-2 stretch to take a 14-6 lead before going up by as many as nine points (19-11). They finished off the opening set with a 25-16 win.
Ashley Ring got the Aces on the board to begin the second frame before Elizabeth Field responded with a kill as a back-and-forth match ensued. Eight ties would lead to an 8-8 score before Wichita State scored the next two and would not look back. They finished the set on a 17-8 run to take a 2-0 lead on the night.

Meaghan Holmes kill helped UE go up 2-0 in the third set before WSU came back to make it a 5-5 tie. Once they found their groove, the Shockers were tough to stop as Driskill recorded a kill to give WSU a 6-5 lead which would eventually grow to six points at 13-7.
Evansville made a run to get back within three at 19-16, but the Shockers put the final touches on the match with a game-ending 6-1 run to earn the victory.
Tomorrow, UE will be back in action as they travel to Springfield, Mo. to face Missouri State. The Bears picked up an impressive 3-1 victory over Southern Illinois on Friday evening.
