EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Purple Aces women’s golf team will take to the course once again next week as they travel to the SIUE Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday.
Evansville opened the season up two weeks ago at the Redbird Invitational in Normal, Ill. In her inaugural tournament at UE, freshman
Paige Crafton led the squad as she tied for 31
st in the three-round event. Her top round came in the second as she tallied a 75 to mark the lowest for the Aces in the event.
Sophomore
Cathy Doyle rebounded from an opening round score of 90 to notch a pair of 70’s to close the tournament. Doyle shot a 76 before capping off the opener with a 78.
Sydney Skiles tallied a 254 in the event to take 69
th place.
Monday’s play will get underway with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. before beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Sunset Hills Country Club in Edwardsville, Ill. The course is set to be 6,025 yards with a par of 72.
Ten teams are set to participate including: Creighton, Eastern Illinois University, IPFW, Lipscomb, SIU Carbondale, Tennessee State, University of Nebraska Omaha, University of South Dakota and SIUE.
