FINAL RESULTS
AURORA, Ohio – With a 5-under 67, University of Evansville senior
Quinn Vilneff posted the lowest round of the day to lead the Purple Aces men's golf team to a tie for third place at the Cleveland State Invitational.

Vilneff began the day tied for 12
th place, but finished five strokes under par with a 67 to take fifth place with a 210. He was just four shots of the overall win at the tournament.

Finishing behind him was
Alex Turner, who tied for 17
th with a three-round total of 217. He also improved in the final round, shooting a 3-under 69 to improve by 13 spots from his opening day standing.

Parker Hensley also played well in the final day, carding an even round of 72 en route to a 222. After tying in their first two rounds, sophomores
Rick Voyvodic and
Will Knights each posted rounds of 78 to finish tied for 38
th place with a 226. Freshman
Brett Wolvert finished a consistent tournament with a 77 to tie for 54
th with a 232.

After leading by nine strokes following the opening day, the University of Cincinnati ran away with the team win on Tuesday, shooting a 279 to finish the event with an 835. They were 28 shots ahead of Cleveland State, who finished with an 863. Evansville, Loyola and Detroit each tied for third place with an 869. As a team, UE shot 2-under par on Tuesday as their 286 saw them rise in the standings.

Nick Dennis, who was tied for the lead after Monday's play, fired a 3-under 69 on his way to medalist. He finished with a 206. Jared Howard of the Bearcats took second place with a 207.

Next up for the men is a trip to the Butler Intercollegiate. The contest will take place on Oct. 7 and 8 at Highland Country Club in Indianapolis.
