Day 2 Results
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Evansville Purple Aces swimming & diving teams finished day two of the House of Champions meet in Indianapolis Saturday night, with the Aces having yet another great day.
Through two days of the House of Champions meet, the Lady Aces are currently in third place with a score of 783.5 trailing only Green Bay and IUPUI. On the men's side the Aces currently sit in fourth place with a score of 668, trailing IUPUI, Green Bay and Lewis.
UE's women's squad started the day out by winning the 200-yard medley relay with a score of 1:45.20. The relay team of Michaela Kent,
Mackenzie Powell,
Melissa Ball and
Abby Smith set a new meet record.
Junior
Michelle Tipton continued her strong weekend by finishing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.60. Freshman Michaela Kent also continued her strong season by finishing third in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.42.
Evansville's men's squad also performed extremely well today, with
Troy Burger finishing second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a score of 56.52. Ethan O'Rourke finished third in the 100-yard backstroke with a score of 52.00.
For the diving team, on the women's side
Alex Hart finished fourth in the 3-meter with a score of 214.10 and
Stephanie Tran finished seventh with a score of 199.50. For the men
Mallet Reid finished sixth in the 1-meter with a score of 231.65.
The Aces will be back at it again Sunday at 10:00 a.m. starting with the women's 200-yard backstroke Prelims.
