EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After showing great improvement between its first two tournaments, the University of Evansville men’s golf team will look to keep the momentum going as they will play at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate on Monday and Tuesday
Play starts on Monday with an 8 a.m. shotgun start as the final 18 holes will be played on Tuesday. Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. will play host to the tournament. Tennessee Tech is the host school for the event.
Evansville is one of nine schools set to participate in the event and will be joined by: Tennessee Tech, Detroit Mercy, Eastern Kentucky, Evansville, Newberry, Northern Iowa, Northern Kentucky, Tennessee State, UT Martin.
Reigning Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week
Alex Turner finished in third place on Tuesday in the Don Benbow Invitational. Turner posted a 72 in Monday’s opening round before carding a 70 on Tuesday. The freshman from Evansville finished just one stroke off of a tie atop the leaderboard.
Quinn Vilneff tied for tenth place with a 147 while another freshman,
Rick Voyvodic, took 25
th with his final of 151.
Parker Hensley and
Will Knights tied for 34
th with a 153 as the Aces took home fourth place honors in Jacksonville, Fla.
