EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Fresh off of a strong fifth place finish in their spring opener at the Benbow Invitational, the University of Evansville women’s golf team will continues its season beginning on Monday at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate.
In the opener, it was
Cathy Doyle pacing UE with a 159 over two rounds of play. Her performance, which included a 78 in the final round, tied her for seventh place. Freshman
Paige Crafton tied for 12
th on the strength of a 161. She also recorded a 78 on Tuesday.
Sydney Skiles checked in with a 168 on her way to a 24
th-place tie while
Dana Hayden was just behind with a 172.
Evansville is one of 13 schools set to participate in the event and will be joined by: Tennessee Tech, Austin Peay, Belmont, Eastern Kentucky, Lee University, Murray State, Newberry, Northern Iowa, Northern Kentucky, Presbyterian, Southern Illinois, Tennessee State.
The women will begin play with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Monday with another 18 holes being played on Tuesday. Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, Tenn. will play host to the tournament. Tennessee Tech is the host school for the event.
