EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Thanks to very generous donations along with the hard work of many people, the University of Evansville golf program is set to dedicate the Charles Braun Family Golf Facility on Wednesday evening.
“Today is a great day for our golf program,” head coach Jim Hamilton said. “It is the first time we have had a home on campus. We are thrilled about dedicating the Charles Braun Family Golf Facility. Many people worked so hard to make it a great facility and their generosity provided us with the funding for the project.”
The facility will be located inside of the Armory on the northwest side of campus. Several facets were included in the project, each of which will be extremely beneficial to the program and its student-athletes for years to come.
For the first time in program history, the Aces golf squads now have a home on campus. It is fully equipped with everything the student-athletes need in order to practice on a year round basis right on the UE campus. State-of-the-art indoor putting greens will be placed inside. They are the same that are used by many of the top professional teaching centers in the country.
It also contains a hi-tech computer that gives golfers a full swing analysis in order to help them improve on a daily basis. Both the men’s and women’s teams will also have locker rooms of their own in the building.
