Final Results
LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. – Paige Crafton finished as the team leader as the University of Evansville women’s golf team wrapped up the 2013 season with a 9
th place finish at the MVC Championship.
Crafton finished in a tie for 24
th to lead the Aces. She carded an 84 in Tuesday’s final round on her way to a score of 253 over the course of the 54-hole event. Six strokes behind her was
Sydney Skiles. She notched an 88 on Tuesday to finish the event in 32
nd with a 259.
Dana Hayden completed play with a 265. Following a pair of 87’s in the opening two rounds, she posted a 91 on the final day to take 36
th.
Cathy Doyle was two shots behind Hayden with a 267. Her efforts gave her a tie for 37
th.
Kelly Lamarche took 46
th with her total of 288.
The combined 1044 for the Aces gave them 9
th place as they finished just six strokes out of a tie for seventh place between Northern Iowa and Creighton.
Illinois State took top honors in both the team and individual races. The Redbirds finished with a 977 to win by three strokes over Wichita State. ISU posted a 327 in the final round, the lowest round of the day by 11 strokes. They trailed Wichita State by eight strokes entering the final day before making their rally.
Southern Illinois and Bradley tied for third place with a 982 while Missouri State was just behind with a 984 to take 5
th.
Katie Jean of the Redbirds recorded an 82 in the final round to win medalist. She finished with a 233, five shots ahead of a second-place tie between Bryce Schroeder (Wichita State) and Danielle Lemek (Bradley).
