EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The third time's the charm for University of Evansville swimmer
Danielle Freeman, as she has been honored by the Missouri Valley Conference for the third straight week. Freeman has been named the co-MVC Swimmer of the Week along with Kate Gately of Missouri State.
 
The freshman continues to improve as the season goes on; in the meet against St. Louis on Jan. 24 she finished first in two events, the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.05 and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 52.17. This led to a Lady Aces win over the Billikens with a score of 119-102.
 
Missouri State senior freestyler Kate Gately helped the Bears win five events in two meets last week, which led to her being named co-MVC Swimmer of the Week alongside Freeman.
 
The MVC diver of the week was Wenting Zhang of Illinois State.
 
UE will swim next in a dual meet against Southern Illinois on Feb. 01 in Carbondale, IL.
