Aces seek third straight conference win at Drake on Saturday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's soccer team (4-8-1, 2-1-0) will travel and play at Drake on Saturday, October 25. The match will be held at the Crownie Soccer Complex and will begin at 4:00 p.m.
 
The Aces were defeated 3-0 in their last match, a road game at the University of Louisville on Tuesday, October 21. Senior goalkeeper Eric Teppen made five saves in the match.
 
Senior defender Charlie Macias has a team-best five goals this season for the Purple Aces. Junior midfielder Mark Anthony Gonzalez also has four goals this year as both junior midfielder Faik Hajderovic and senior forward Nick Schroeder have each recorded two goals this fall.
 
Teppen has recorded 63 saves for UE this season and has a .733 saves percentage. He has played in all 13 of the Aces matches this year and holds a 1.78 goals against average.
 
As a team, Evansville is averaging 11.3 shots and 1.38 goals per match. The Purple Aces have also taken 46 corner kicks this season.
 
Drake (3-8-3, 1-2-0) was projected to finish 4th in the Missouri Valley Conference Preseason Poll but is currently 5th in the standings.
 
The Bulldogs tied Western Illinois 1-1 on Tuesday night in Des Moines, Iowa. Down 1-0, Eric Williams evened the score with a goal in the 47th minute. Goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod recorded six saves in the match.
 
James Wypych has a team-best three goals, three assists, and nine points this season. Ben LeMay, Steven Enna and Williams each have contributed two goals each this year.
 
MacLeod has played the majority of minutes in goal this year for Drake. He is 3-8-3 this year. He has made 69 saves this season, has a 1.60 goals against average and a .742 saves percentage.
 
The Bulldogs average 0.86 goals and 11.2 shots per match. They have attempted 66 corner kicks this year.
 
Drake is 13-10-2 all-time against Evansville. The Purple Aces won nine of the first 11 meetings, however, the Bulldogs have been victorious in 11 of the last 13 meetings. Evansville's last win against Drake was a 1-0 victory on October 23, 2009 at home.
