Opening Day Results
INDIANAPOLIS – Following the first two rounds of play, the University of Evansville men's golf team is just three strokes off the lead entering Tuesday's final round of play in the Butler Fall Invitational at Highland Country Club.
With a score of 577 in the opening two rounds, the Purple Aces are three shots behind IUPUI, who notched a 574.
Wil Pahud continues to scorch the courses in his short time at UE. Pahud is tied for second place overall after his rounds of 72 and 69 on Monday. His 1-under 69 in the second round of play was the lowest of the 44 players in the event. He is just two strokes off of the leader.
Alex Turner and
Will Knights are next up for the Aces. The duo tied for 10
th place after the opening day. Turner began the day with a 1-over 71 before carding a 74 in the second. Knights started his day with a 74 before posting a 71 in round two.
Freshman
Tyler Gray wrapped up Monday's action one stroke behind Knights and Turner. His rounds of 71 and 75 tied him for 12
th place with a 146.
Jon Pick was fifth for UE, posting identical rounds of 80 to go into Tuesday with a 160.
Brett Wolvert and
Rick Voyvodic were entered as individuals. Wolvert completed the day tied for 31
st with a 152. He posted two rounds of 76. Voyvodic began the day with an 80 before improving by three strokes in the second round to finish play with a 157.
IUPUI sits atop the team and individual leaderboards. The Jaguars registered a 574 on Monday to sit three shots ahead of the Aces. The B team for the Jaguars sit in third place with a 584. Bradley is one shot behind in fourth after completing the day with a 585.
The Jaguars' Jose Pablo Segurola leads the individuals with a 1-under 139. Segurola carded a 1-under 69 to begin the day before scoring an even 70 in the final round of 18. Pahud and Jon Williams of Indianapolis are tied for second, two shots behind.
After a big day on Monday, the Purple Aces look to wrap up the tournament on a high note with 18 more holes on Tuesday.
