SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. – Through 36 holes of play, senior
Quinn Vilneff paced the University of Evansville men's golf team as the Purple Aces stand in a tie for fifth place at the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate at Sevierville Golf Club.
Vilneff posted rounds of 73 and 72 on his way to a 145 in Monday's opening two rounds of action. He wrapped up the day in a tie for ninth place and is eight strokes off the lead.

Alex Turner was next on the UE list. Standing just three shots behind Vilneff, Turner toured the course with rounds of 75 and 73 to card a 148 on the day.
Senior
Parker Hensley totaled 150 strokes on Monday as he sits in a tie for 29
th on the leaderboard. Following a first round of 77, Hensley improved by four strokes in his second trip around the course, finishing with a 73.
Rick Voyvodic registered rounds of 78 and 75 on his way to a 153 (T-38) while
Will Knights completed the Aces contingent with a 172 (T-73). Back in action as an individual,
Jon Pick recorded rounds of 80 and 78 to finish the day in a tie for 61
st with a 158.
The University of Tennessee holds a commanding lead of 20 strokes after Monday's two rounds posting a 565. The Volunteers placed all five of their team members in the top 16 while holding the top two scores. Sitting in second place is Eastern Kentucky with a 585 while West Georgia is in third place with a 593.
UT Martin finished the opening day in fourth place with a 595 while Evansville and Detroit are tied for fifth with identical scores of 596. The pair is three shots ahead of 7
th-place Longwood.
Oliver Goss of the Vols has a 5-stroke lead on the individual side. Goss posted rounds of 71 before a 6-under 66 to tally a 137. Danny Keddie (UT) and Taylor Riggs (EKU) are tied for second with scores of 142.
Tomorrow, the squads take to the course for the final round of 18 at Sevierville Golf Club.
