EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville Purple Aces softball team is set to schedule Missouri Valley Conference rival Bradley University this weekend at Cooper Stadium. The series was originally scheduled to be played in Peoria, Ill., but due to poor field conditions, the series was moved to Evansville.

The series will feature a doubleheader starting at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 22 and a single game on Sunday, Mar. 23.

UE enters the series on a two game winning streak, after sweeping SEMO in a mid-week doubleheader on Thursday.

Bradley has gone 2-3 in its last five games; with its most recent win being over MVC opponent Missouri State on Thursday.

Evansville brings in a squad that relies heavily on its freshman players. Power hitter
Susan Norris has three homeruns this season to go along with a .293 batting average,
Michal Luckett has been very solid on the defensive side of the ball at shortstop and
Emma Buckles is second on the team with a .352 batting average and leads the squad with 11 stolen bases.

The Purple Aces also have juniors
Megan Gurski, who leads the team with 17 RBI, a triple and a batting average of .425, and
Kayla Fortner who has five homeruns, 15 RBI, five stolen bases and a slugging percentage of .656.

The Braves will enter the weekend series behind Alyson Clemente, who is second on the team with a .306 batting average, a homer and 19 RBI. Bradley's best pitcher has been Madeline Lynch-Crumrine who has a 7-8 record this season to go along with a 3.06 ERA in 87.0 innings of work with 48 strikeouts.

After this weekends series, the Aces will travel to Belmont on Wednesday, March 26 and then to conference rival Northern Iowa on March 29 – 30.
