EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville men's golf team defeated crosstown rivals USI by a 10-5 score following Sunday's action in the UE/USI Challenge Cup at Oak Meadow Country Club.

Coupled with yesterday's tie score, the Aces came out with a 10-5 victory following singles duels on Sunday.  UE was victorious in seven out of ten matchups on Sunday while tying once and falling in two decisions.

Quinn Vilneff shot a 73 to get the Aces going on the right track, defeating Jordon Wildt, who carded an 81.  Will Knights earned a point with his victory over Zack Thomas.  Knights posted a 78 while Thomas finished the day with an 80.

A.J. Naas also won a close decision.  His 90 was just enough to defeat Addison Aubry, who had a 91.  Parker Hensely dueled against David Janney with each shooting a 79.

The two points for USI came from Logan Osborne and Alex Wade.  Osborne shot a 73 to defeat Alex Turner.  Turner finished the day with a 75.  Wade's 80 was enough to top Craig Niemeier, who finished Sunday's play with an 85.

Following a quick start to the spring, the Aces will have a weekend off before returning to action.  Next up for Evansville is a trip to Peoria, Ill. for the Bradley Invitational.  Set for April 5-6, the tournament will be played at Weaver Ridge Golf Club in Peoria.
