EVANSVILLE, Ind. – After winning its home tournament on Friday and Saturday, the Purple Aces volleyball team had two freshmen named to the All-Tournament Team.
Genesis Miranda and
Cathy Schreiber each received four votes en route to berths on the team. Miranda has shown tremendous growth in her short time at the University of Evansville and it culminated in 42 kills in three matches over the weekend. She led the Aces with an average of 3.82 kills per set and was tremendous in each of the three matches.
Miranda also posted three service aces, 17 digs and 13 blocks. Making her efforts even more impressive was that of her 13 blocks, eight were solo.
Fellow freshman Cathy Schreiber was also stellar, finished the weekend with 30 kills, good for an average of 2.73 per set. Schreiber also had an accurate offensive effort, posting a .375 final in three matches.
Schreiber led the way for the Aces with four service aces to go along with 14 block assists.
