ST. LOUIS – Purple Aces senior
Ashley Ring was named the Missouri Valley Conference Volleyball Player of the Week in a release by the league on Monday.
Over the last week of play, Ashley Ring was one of the top players on the floor, posting an unbelievable 69 kills in four matches for the Purple Aces. Ring averaged 4.60 per set while hitting a solid .308 over the course of 156 attempts. She also notched 35 digs, second on the team along with seven blocks.
Ring finished the home opener with 15 kills while hitting .344 against Austin Peay. She opened the Golden Flashes Classic with 20 kills, hitting .324. She also registered 12 digs. She helped Evansville win its first match with 13 kills and another .300+ effort, checking in at .355 as UE swept past New Hampshire on Friday.
She saved her best for last as the Aces topped Morehead State in four sets. Her 21 kills, combined with 11 digs and four blocks, helped her garner All-Tournament Team honors. She moved up to second in the MVC in kills per set with 3.59 per set.
Ring and the Aces are set to take on the Tennessee Volunteers at the Carson Center on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m.
