3/10/2015 12:57:00 PM

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Evansville freshman Courtney Coverdale is set for the NCAA Diving Zones, which will be hosted by Ohio State University beginning on Thursday.

Coverdale qualified for the NCAA's in the opening home meet of the season versus Southern Illinois.  Her score of 266.77 in the 1-meter event was the clinching score.  She got even better as her inaugural campaign at UE went along and that was capped off by her top effort at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.  Coverdale recorded a 289.35 to take fourth place.  It was also within shouting distance of Sadie Wells' school record of 297.25.  Wells set the UE mark in the 1-meter, 6-dive event in the 2012-13 season.

McCorkle Aquatics Pavilion in Columbus, Ohio will be host to the event.  The action begins on Thursday with the 3-meter dive at 1 p.m. ET before the 1-meter starts on Friday at the same time.  Saturday's final round commences at 11 a.m. ET. To qualify for zones, you need to post a 265 or better.  Live stats for the event will be available at DiveMeets.com.

Two years ago, Sadie Wells advanced to the NCAA Zones.  Held by Purdue at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center, Wells posted a 218.40 in the 1-meter event.  Well was solid in both events that year, coming in 33rd in the 3-meter with a final score of 235.60 before posting a 218.40 in the 1-meter.
