JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Wil Pahud carded a 4-over 75 in the opening round of the Don Benbow Intercollegiate to lead the Purple Aces at Jacksonville Beach Golf Club.

Pahud's total of 75 has him in a tie for sixth place. This comes on the heels of an extremely successful fall slate in his inaugural semester at the University of Evansville. Pahud is three shots off the lead.

Just behind Pahud was freshman Tyler Gray. One of UE's top performers in the fall also had a stellar start to the spring, posting a 77 to stand in a tie for 14
th place.

Rounding out the top three for the Aces was Rick Voyvodic. He is alone in 18
th place with his score of 78. Alex Turner made it four UE players in the top 19 as he registered a 79 to tie for 19
th.Â

Will Knights' round of 81 rounded out UE's top five to stand in 26
th while Brett Wolvert and Jon Pick are tied for 38
th with 89 strokes.

Leading the individuals was Butler's Andrew Eiler. He posted a 1-over 72 and is one shot ahead of a 3-way tie for second place.Â

Florida Atlantic has a healthy lead heading into Tuesday's final day of play as they sit seven strokes ahead of Cleveland State. FAU finished Monday's round with a 298 with CSU finishing at 305. Butler is in third at 307 while Evansville is fourth (312) and Carson-Newman sits in fifth place with a 313.
