EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball team (24-18) scored their second highest run total of the season in a 15-3 home victory against Oakland City (15-22) on Wednesday night. Outfielder
Kevin Kaczmarski was 3-for-4 with a career-high tying three runs scored and a season-high matching four runs batted in. The Cary, Ill. native has hit safely in the last 16 Purple Aces games, raising his nation-leading batting average to .462.

"It was great to see our offensive erupt tonight," said Evansville head coach
Wes Carroll. "I was really happy to see a lot of pitchers, who haven't had many opportunities on the weekend, get in there and throw an inning for us. Hopefully we can keep rolling into this weekend. "

Kaczmarski scored the initial run with a first inning RBI single. Outfielder
Korbin Williams also plated another runner with a single in a three run opening frame for the Aces.

Evansville extended the lead with another six runs in the second. Infielder
Stewart Nelson started the scoring with a run producing single, first baseman
Eric McKibban brought home two more with a base hit to right field and Williams' two run double gave UE an eight run edge. A single from catcher
Travis Tokarek later in the inning put Oakland City down by nine.

After the Mighty Oaks pushed across a run in the third, UE answered with four more runs in the bottom half of the inning. Kaczmarski posted two more RBIs with a single to right field and Ramon added two with a double to center field.

Leading 13-1, McKibban notched his third RBI of the night with a fifth inning single and Kaczmarski recorded his fourth RBI of the game with a fielder's choice later in the inning.

Five UE pitchers were used in the seven inning game, a 15-2 Evansville victory.
Brian Jestice started for Evansville, yielding one unearned run in 2.0 innings. Reliever Jimmy Ward (1-0) received the win after 2.0 innings of one hit, no run baseball. The loss goes to Oakland City starter Alex Sandefer (1-6), who gave up nine runs (eight earned) in just 2.0 innings.

Outfielder
Jarod Perry was 2-for-3, moving his on-base streak to 43 games. He also tied a career-high with three runs scored. McKibban matched a career-best with three runs and had a season-high tying three RBIs. Nelson set new career-highs in hits (3) and runs (3). Williams' three RBIs was one shy of his career best (vs. WKU 2-22). Ramon ended the night 2-for-4 with two more runs batted in.

The Aces host Southern Illinois this weekend with the series opener on Friday, May 1 is 6:00 p.m. at Braun Stadium. Adult tickets are $7 as senior/youth tickets are just $5.
