EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball program is very visible this summer as many Purple Aces are playing professional baseball and collegiate league baseball.

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL:
LHP KYLE FREELAND

Notable:  Making his season debut on Friday, July 24 against Ogden. Follow along here
 
RHP SAM JOHNS
Hagerstown (WAS, A)
Season:  0-2, 4.26 ERA, 2 SV, 24 GP, 38.0 IP, 37 H, 21 R, 18 ER, 10 BB, 20 K
Notable:  Pitched 2.0 hitless and scoreless innings this week at Kannapolis (July 18)…Ranks second on the team in appearances (24).
 
OF KEVIN KACZMARSKI
Kingsport (NYM, Rk)
Season:  .319 BA, 1 HR, 12 RBIs, 16 R, 30 H, 7 2Bs, 11 BBs, 4 SB
Notable:  On a 14 game hitting streak (July 5 -23)…Eight RBIs during his hitting streak…Ranks third on the team in batting average (.319).
 
RHP KYLE LLOYD

Season:  5-7, 5.13 ERA, 23 GP, 12 GS, 87.2 IP, 94 H, 60R, 50 ER, 28 BB, 90 K
Notable:  Threw 1.0 scoreless innings in relief at Modesto (July 21)…Earned the start at High Desert, yielding four runs in 5.0 innings (July 23).
 
C KYLE POLLOCK
Idaho Falls (KCR, Rk)
Season:  .311 BA, 2 HR, 9 RBIs, 8 R, 23 H, 6 2Bs, 1 3B, 8 BBs
Notable:  Has hit safely in each of the last three games (July 18-23)…Totaled five hits during the stretch including a double and a home run.
 
INF ERIC STAMETS
Arkansas (LAA, AA)
Season:  .257 BA, 3 HR, 23 RBIS, 16 R, 52 H, 13 2Bs, 1 3B, 4 SBs
Notable:  Hit safely in three straight games (July 21-23), and seven of the last eight games…Homered twice in the last week, totaling eight RBIs.
