EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Evansville baseball program is very visible this summer as many Purple Aces are playing professional baseball and collegiate league baseball.

PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL:
LHP KYLE FREELAND
Modesto (COL, A+)
Stats:  0-0, 2.25 ERA, 1 GP, 1 GS, 4.0 IP, 7 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K
Notable: After pitching 7.0 scoreless innings in two starts for Grand Junction (COL, Rk), Freeland was promoted to Modesto.
 
RHP SAM JOHNS
Auburn (WAS, A-)
Stats:  1-0, 6.00 ERA, 2 GP, 3.0 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
Notable:  After making 26 appearances for Hagerstown (WAS, A), Johns was sent down to short season Auburn.
 
OF KEVIN KACZMARSKI
Kingsport (NYM, Rk)
Stats:  .309 BA, 1 HR, 16 RBIs, 23 R, 47 H, 10 2Bs, 15 BBs, 10 SB
Notable:  On a four game hitting streak (Aug. 2 – 5)…Totaled three RBIs and three stolen bases in the last week.

Notable:  Started back to back games for the Storm, going 6.0 innings in each appearance (July 28, Aug. 2)
