Wil Pahud moves to 15th in final day in Normal

Final Results

NORMAL, Ill. – Just as he did on Sunday, University of Evansville golfer Wil Pahud continued to play well as he tied for 15th in the final day of the Weibring Intercollegiate.
 
Pahud shot the low round of the event for the Purple Aces, firing a 72 on Monday.  That gave him a 222 for the tournament to tie for 15th.  He improved by two strokes in each round of the event and his final for Monday was one of the lowest rounds of the day.
 
Tyler Gray remained second on the list for UE.  A 78 in the final tour of 18 put him in a tie for 52nd with a final score of 230.  That was one ahead of teammate Will Knights, who tallied a 75 to finish with a 231.  Knights lowered his score by three strokes from Sunday's first day of action.
 
Next up was Austin Carmack.  The freshman shot an 80 in the third round to tally a 236.  He tied for 81st.  Rick Voyvodic finished the event with an 82 as he total 245 strokes.  Individual Zac Turi tied Voyvodic on the leaderboard with a final score of 245.  His final round checked in at an 86.
 
Leading by 12 strokes after the first day, Illinois State added to its advantage in winning the championship on Monday.  The Redbirds shot a 287 to finish 16 strokes ahead of Central Arkansas.  Western Illinois was third with Missouri State and Bradley finishing the top five.  Trent Wallace of ISU was medalist.  His 70 on Monday tied for the low round of the day.  He won by three strokes of Drake Bushong of Bradley.
 
As a team, UE took 17th place.  The Aces finished with a 919, two shots behind Drake's final score of 917.  In two weeks, UE is back on the course as they travel to Batavia, Ohio for the NKU Collegiate Classic.  It is set for Sept. 27-28 at Elk Run Golf Club.
