Last year, the University of Evansville finished in fourth place. Several performances highlighted last year's championships.  Evansville started the day one finals off with a bang, with the relay team of Michaela Kent, Mackenzie Powell, Danielle Freeman and Abby Smith posting a time of 1:43.50 in the 200 Medley Relay to finish in second place, while swimming the best time in school history.

The second school record of the opening day for UE came in the 800 free relay.  Freeman was part of the record-breakers once again, joining Michelle Tipton, Maja Magnusson and Jessi Hildebrand as the group registered a 7:35.42.

Day Two saw Abby Smith, Sam Montgomery, Danielle Freeman and Michelle Tipton set another mark in the 200 free relay.  They posted a time of 1:33.06, which is also an MVC record.

On Day Three, three more school records went by the wayside including the 200 free as Tipton posted a 1:48.35.  Freeman earned the new school mark in the 100 fly with her time of 55.63.

On the final day, Tipton took second place in the 100 free with an even 50.00, yet another school record. In that same event, Freeman took fourth place. The group of Abby Smith, Sam Montgomery, Freeman and Tipton took second in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:23.95.  Their effort smashed the previous school mark.

Rickey Perkins finished the weekend by taking home his fifth MVC Coach of the Year Award.

This marks the second time in a span of 10 days that UE will be heading to Carbondale as the women faced the Salukis on Feb. 6.  Michaela Kent was the top performer of the day, earning the win in the 50 backstroke with a time of 27.35.  She also grabbed a pair of third place efforts in the 25 and 50 free races.  Her time in the 25 free was a 16.40 while she checked in with a 24.82 in the 50 free.

In the 50 free, Kaylee Gubricky had a solid fourth place finish with a time of 25.72.

Adrianne Gamester, Jessi Hildebrand, Maja Magnusson and Megan Schremp combined to take third in the 100 free relay as they swam a time of 49.94.

Courtney Coverdale took third place in both dives.  In the 1-meter, her score was a 238.72 while she was credited with a 232.50 in the 3-meter.
