ST. LOUIS – The University of Evansville baseball team will be getting an early start next week as the fifth-seeded Purple Aces are set to start off their Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at 8 a.m. Central time on Wednesday at Bob Warn Field in Terre Haute.

The Aces (27-25, 9-12 MVC) are slated to square off against fourth-seeded Southern Illinois in the tournament opener. Regular season champion Dallas Baptist and eighth-seeded Illinois State round out UE's four-team bracket. The four teams will slug it out until a bracket winner is determined, and that team will take on the winner of the other bracket to determine which team will earn the MVC's automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.
Following the opener, UE's second game will be played Thursday at either at 8 a.m. Central with a loss or 4 p.m. with a win.
