In the beginning portion of the second half, Illinois State continued to manufacture opportunities as the Redbirds forced another save from Till in the 53rd minute, followed by a shot that an Aces' defender knocked away as Evansville continued to hold its deficit at one goal. After ISU's Alix McArthur had her shot blocked in the 63rd minute, the Purple Aces built up a response.
