10/17/2026 8:32:00 PM

VALPARAISO, Ind. – The Aces are on the road for their second game of the week at 1 PM against Valparaiso.

Following a 1-0 victory against Northern Iowa on Thursday night, the Aces will look to continue their two-game winning streak. The Aces sit sixth in the conference with a 2-3 conference record. A win for the Aces will strengthen their position for the MVC tournament next month and could potentially move them to the fourth-place spot.

Last Time Out
In the first half both teams traded shots, but both defenses held strong. In the 35th minute, UNI tested Chirpich again with a shot that forced an acrobatic save from the experienced Chirpich. In total, Chirpich collected three saves in the first half as both teams ended the half scoreless.

The two sides would trade shots back and forth for much of the middle portion of the second period until Evansville earned a chance in the 74th minute. After a shot from LaBerge was saved and pushed out of the 18-yard box, a collision towards the edge of the box was challenged by the Aces Head Women's Soccer Coach Chris Pfau. Following a video review, it was determined a foul had occurred inside the box, and the Aces were awarded a penalty kick. LaBerge stepped to the spot and calmly finished past the Panthers keeper to give Evansville the 1-0 advantage. This goal marked LaBerge's fifth of the season and her third goal in the last two games. As the final whistle blew, goalkeeper Bri Chirpich earned her second shutout of the season and added 6 saves to make her current season total 46.

With the one-goal advantage, Evansville was able to lock-down defensively and secure the win 1-0.

Series History
In their last matchup, Valparaiso was able to capture the victory 3-0 against the Aces which allowed the Beacons to take the lead in the series history 6-5-6. On the road, Evansville has a 2-4-3 record against Valparaiso since 2004. The Aces will look to tie the series history on Sunday with a win.

Scouting
Valparaiso is 5-7-2 and 1-3-1 in conference play this season. They currently rank one spot behind UE in the MVC. The Beacons have found more success at home with a 4-3 record than on the road.
