Game Notes
In Evansville's win over the Governors, senior Marley Miller finished just two points shy of a career-high with 18 points, hitting four three-pointers. Tuesday's game marked the fourth time in the last six games that Miller recorded a double-digit scoring performance and fifth contest over the last six that Miller has hit three-or-more triples.
The Aces as a team shot 48.9% (22-45) and 46.7% (7-15) from beyond the arc, both season bests for Evansville. This comes following 20% FG and 11.1% three-point shooting percentage on the road on Dayton on Saturday. On the season, the Aces are shooting 34.9% from the field, 30.8% from three, and 76.7% from the charity stripe.
For the second-straight road game, the Aces' coaching staff will have a member making a return to their alma mater. Head coach Matt Ruffing visited his alma mater last Saturday in Evansville's contest at Dayton and assistant coach Doug Roger heads back to his alma mater on Friday when the Aces face Wisconsin. A student manager for the Badgers, Rogers was part of Wisconsin's team during a pair of postseason appearances during the 2009-10 (NCAA Tournament) and 2010-11 (WNIT) seasons.
Friday night's contest marks the third meeting all-time between the Aces and Badgers with Wisconsin winning both previous matchups. Last meeting on Nov. 25, 2012, the Badgers earned a 73-55 win over Evansville in Madison, Wisconsin. The Badgers enter Friday's matchup with an 8-3 record, boasting a 5-1 mark at the Kohl Center, and are coming of an 85-38 win over Chicago State on December 12. Leading the way for Wisconsin are a pair of double-figure scorers in Marsha Howard (13.2 points per game) and Imani Lewis (12.4) who each hover near averaging a double-double with 9.7 and 8.5 rebounds per game, respectively.
