USTFCCCA Release

NEW ORLEANS, La. - Following their return as a program in 2018, the University of Evansville men's and women's track and field teams earned All-Academic Team honors from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) it was announced in a release by the USTFCCCA on Thursday.

"To have this kind of success for the first season of competition is outstanding," said Aces head track and field and cross country coach Don Walters. "Both teams were a mix of campus recruits along with the student-athletes we had. Everyone worked hard, studied hard and became a team before the end of this successful season. I am impressed with the attitude everyone put forth everyday."

Evansville's men joined 140 other programs in NCAA Division I that were recognized as All-Academic Teams along with six fellow programs from the Missouri Valley Conference. The Purple Aces finished the 2017-18 academic year with a cumulative team GPA of 3.28.

UE's women were one of 220 NCAA DI programs to be named an All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA as eight MVC teams were honored including the Aces. On the year, Evansville amassed a 3.26 cumulative team GPA in the 2017-18 academic year.
