2/25/2019 8:13:00 AM

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - While it didn't yield a champion, Sunday's finale of the Missouri Valley Conference Championships saw more program records fall by the University of Evansville Track and Field team.

Final Results

On the women's side, sophomore distance runner Anna Lowry shattered the school mark in the women's 3000 meters with a time of 10:09.63. The women's 4 x 400 relay team ran its fastest time of the season by almost ten seconds, on its way to breaking the program record by 5 seconds, with a time of 4:17.20.

On the men's side, the 4 x 400 relay team shattered school mark, which was set in 1983, with a time of 3:31.39. Sophomore pole vaulter Ian Alberts set a new program record height 4.45 meters. Senior thrower Ryan Freeman completed his indoor career by shattering the school record in men's shot put with a throw of 13.73 meters. That's an improvement of more than three feet from last year's MVC indoor championships. And finally, Justus Donaldson and Joey Rucinski became the first Aces to complete the indoor heptathlon.

Now the UE track and field teams turn their attention to the outdoor season, which begins on March 16 at the Stan Lyons Invitational in Indianapolis, hosted by Butler.
