EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The University of Evansville track & field team completed day one of the SIUE Cougar Classic on Friday, with six Aces competing in the hammer throw. Gwen Darrah (Cleveland, Ohio/Orange) highlighted the day by finishing fifth place in the women's event. 

Women 
Darrah led the Aces and finished fifth in the field with a mark of 43.51 meters. Jillian Miller (Boonville, Ind./Boonville) placed 20th with a personal best mark of 34.72 meters. Emma Bertel (Franklin, Ind./Franklin Community) recorded a mark of 28.33 meters to place 19th. 

Men
Tyler Cherne (Boardman, Ohio/Boardman) led the way for the men's side, placing eighth with a mark of 46.19 meters. Beau Baldwin (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mt. Vernon) came in at 13th, recording a mark of 41.58 meters. Drew Aaron (Mount Vernon, Ind./Mount Vernon) placed 16th with a mark of 33.63 meters.
