EVANSVILLE, Ind. - After an impressive final round last week, the University of Evansville women's golf team aims to continue its strong play at the Saluki Invite at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill.

The Aces will compete against host Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois, Illinois Springfield, Indiana State, John A. Logan, Lindenwood, Maryville, Omaha, Purdue Fort Wayne, Rend Lake, Tennessee State, Valparaiso, and William Penn.

Last week, Evansville earned an 11th-place finish after ending the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate with a team score of 977 (319 - 332 - 326) with a six-stroke improvement from the second round to the third round. Samford won the intercollegiate, finishing with a 877 (289 - 290 - 298) as a team, just one stroke ahead of second-place Marshall.

Leading Evansville, Sophia Rohleder recorded her second-straight round under 80 with a 79 in the third round for a tournament-total of 236 (82 - 75 - 79). Playing best down the stretch, Rohleder finished in a tie for 29th. Senior Sydney Anderson rebounded with a 79 on the final day, placing Anderson in a tie for 43rd with a three-round total of 241 (75 - 87 - 79).

Making a big move on the final day as an individual, Caitlin O'Donnel improved by 10 strokes in the third round with an 82 on Tuesday, placing O'Donnel in 61st with a three-round total of 254 (80 - 92 - 82).

Three-strokes back of Anderson was fellow senior Madison Chaney, who finished in a tie for 49th with a total of 244 (79 - 80 - 85). Finishing in 63rd, Lexie Sollman closed the tournament iwth an 87, giving Sollman a 260 (83 - 90 - 87) for the tournament.

Returning to form in the final round, Alyssa McMinn carded the fourth-lowest round of the day for the Aces, finishing with an 83 on Tuesday to place McMinn in 67th with a total of 267 (86 - 98 - 83).

Evansville begins the Saluki Invite with the opening round on Sunday with teams teeing off at 10 a.m. at Hickory Ridge Golf Course in Carbondale, Ill.
