TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Opening competition on Sunday, the University of Evansville women's golf team finished the first round of the Indiana State Spring Invite at Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.
The Aces sit in ninth in the 14-team field after concluding the first round with a team score of 312. Leading the tournament is Youngstown State, who finished the opening round with a 285 as a team.
A pair of Aces paced the way for Evansville as seniors Sydney Anderson and Madison Chaney each finished in a tie for 16th. Both Chaney and Anderson recorded a 76 in the first round, seven strokes off the tournament leader.
Three more Aces ended the first round with identical scores. Lexie Sollman, Alyssa McMinn, and Caitlin O'Donnell marked 80s in the opening round, placing the trio in a tie for 49th.
Finishing two strokes behind the trio was Sophia Rohleder, who carded an opening-round 82 for a share of 58th place.
Evansville concludes the tournament with Monday's final round beginning at 9 a.m. (CT) at the Country Club of Terre Haute in Terre Haute, Ind.
