EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The first part of a six-part series releasing the 13 newcomers to the 2019 University of Evansville men's soccer team, today we look at Leo Barba and Luis Aranda, two student-athletes from the state of Texas.
Barba has been no stranger to the Aces, after joining Evansville in the fall of 2018 and sitting out the season due to NCAA transfer rules. Spending one season under current Aces' assistant Brett Bentley at Adams State, Barba led the team with five goals and an assist , recording 38 shots. Barba helped the Grizzlies secure their best season in program history with a 7-10-1 record.
Another transfer that joins the Aces with collegiate experience is Luis Aranda, a transfer from St. Mary's University in Texas. Also a native of Midland, Texas like Barba, Aranda played in 18 matches as a freshman wih the Rattlers, tallying a pair of assists and spending 1,367 minutes on the pitch.
Follow along each Friday during the summer as the Aces will continue to announce the newcomers for the 2019 season!
