EVANSVILLE – The University of Evansville women's soccer team competed with a tough Mercer team for 90-minutes, but fell, 1-0, Friday night at McCutchan Stadium.

The Purple Aces set the pace early with two shots in the first 21 minutes, one by Maggie Leazer (4) and Emily Ormson (21).

UE outshot their opponent for the first time this season, posting a 12-9 differential against Mercer, Leazer and Ormson led the Aces with three shots each.

The no score game streaked to the final minute with no decision, before Amaya Evans of Mercer, rebounded a free kick to find goal.
Â
Michaela Till recorded two saves during the match, putting her total for the year at 47, and is just four off the number five spot in career saves, in school history.

The Aces return to action on Sunday, as they take on IUPUI at McCutchan Stadium at 1 p.m., on ESPN3.
