EVANSVILLE – Purple Aces women's soccer team gets set for matches against South East Missouri and Belmont this weekend. The Aces are taking on the Redhawks the McCutchan Stadium on Friday at 7 p.m., before traveling to Belmont for a 2 p.m. Sunday matchup.

Know the Aces

- Michaela Till was honored at this week's Missouri Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Week, after posting four saves in a 110-minuite match against UT Martin. This marks the second defensive player of the week award for the goal keeper.
- Michaela Till has recorded 23 saves through three matches, keeping her on pace on the career saves list, which her 187 saves currently ranks 6th in program.
- Evansville was bolstered last season by solid goal keeping by Michaela Till. Posting five shutouts, 105 saves and a 1.23 goals-against-average, which ranked toward the top of the MVC.
- Michaela Till ranks first in the MVC in saves (23) and saves per-game (7.67).
- The Aces rank .ninth in the NCAA in saves per-game as a team with 9.00.
- Jayme-Lee Hunter recorded her seventh career goal last Thursday (Aug. 29) against UT Martin. Hunter's goal put the Aces up 1-0 just before halftime off a free kick try that bent the back left of the net.
- The went 0-2-1 during the opening two weekends of action with losses to Middle Tennessee and No. 17 Vanderbilt. The Aces took a 1-1 tie to UT Martin on Thursday after a goal by Hunter and four saves by Till.
- Emily Wolak represented the Purple Aces on the Missouri Valley preseason all-conference team.
- The Aces finished the 2018 season with a 1-0 loss against No. 2 Drake in double overtime in the semifinals of the MVC Championships.
- Evansville advanced to the semifinals after winning 3-2 in PKs over No. 3 seed UNI with Amanda DaSilva converting the go ahead PK.
- The Purple Aces return 85 percent of their scoring from 2018, including Emily Ormson and Maggie Leazer who led the team in goal scoring a year ago.
- A familiar face will be back on the sidelines as Chris Pfau was named assistant coach on May 15. Pfau returns to Evansville after serving as the Purple Aces head coach from 2005-07.
- The Purple Aces were picked sixth in the MVC preseason poll, voted on by the coaches.
