MVC Championship Information
COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Evansville women's swimming and diving team made waves during day two of the 2020 Missouri Valley Conference Championship.
As a team the Purple Aces are sixth place with 110 team points, with a 17-point lead over Arkansas Little Rock, through seven events.
On the diving board, Sarah Kempf and Natalie Gerard earned top-eight finishes in the 1-meter diving, posting a 226.40 and 214.40 scores respectively. Maggie Franz also added an 11
th place finish with a 225.10 score.
Competing in the 500-yard freestyle, Sarah Jahns earned an 11
th place finish off of a 5:01.38 timed swim, while Ashton Adams took 16
th place in the event, swimming 5:07.06.
Sage Moore posted a 2:07.00, 200-yard IM score to finish 15
th. Maya Cunningham (2:08.40) and Andrea Ramis (2:10.52) took 21
st and 23
rd respectively in the event.
Emma Hennessy earned 20
th place in the 50-yard freestyle, raced at 24.24.
UE placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay, teamed by Sonsoles Aguayo, Jessie Steele, Kristy Kupfer and Emma Hennessy, finishing in 1:37.09.
Day three of the MVC Championship will begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow with prelims, followed by finals at 6 p.m.
