EVANSVILLE - Prepped for an important weekend, the University of Evansville men's soccer team welcomes Drake in to Arad McCutchan Stadium in an important MVC matchup at 2 PM on Sunday afternoon in Evansville.
Meeting for the first time in 2022, Evansville and Drake renew their series for the 41st time with the Bulldogs owning a 21-17-2 advantage in the all-time series. Facing-off three times last season, Drake captured the first meeting, 1-0, in Des Moines, before the Aces won their home meeting, 2-0, and then captured a 4-2 victory in the opening round of the MVC Championship at Arad McCutchan Stadium.
Sunday is Senior Day for five Aces who have helped shape the program into the success it has had the last two seasons. Prior to Sunday's contest, Evansville will honor Raphaello Perez Colasito, Evan Dekker, Ethan Garvey, Nkosi Graham, and Brian Zambrano. These five men have played over 15,000 minutes combined on the pitch, appearing in 147 matches. All five have also excelled in the classroom with each member of this year's senior class holding a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Sunday's matchup features two of the top three teams in The Valley standings with Drake in second on 12 points and Evansville sitting in a tie for third with eight points. Missouri State sits atop the conference table at 5-0 with 15 points. Seeds 2-4 will host an opening round matchup, while the top seed receives a first round bye. Evansville is back home after a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over SIUE last Saturday as Jose Vivas scored on a penalty and then assisted the game-winning goal that came from Kai Phillip.
Sitting ahead for the Aces down the final stretch of the regular season are three of their final four matches at home, beginning with Sunday's match against Drake and following with a midweek contest with Indiana on Tuesday and wrapping-up on November 2 against Belmont in the regular season finale.
